There are basically four alternatives for housing at IASS-IACM 2008:
1. The Statler Hotel, the conference hotel on the Cornell Campus. Virtually all of the conference sessions and events will take place in and around the Statler. The hotel features luxury rooms, many amenities such as free internet access, and excellent service. We are holding a limited number of rooms at special reduced rates for the conference: $155 or $165 (plus tax) for single or double occupancy, respectively. We encourage you to make your reservations early, because this block of rooms will be held exclusively for IASS-IACM 2008 participants only until 29 April. To obtain the conference rate you must reserve either by e-mail (statler_reserve@cornell.edu) or telephone (1-800-541-2501), cite the "IASS-IACM" affiliation, select single- or double-occupancy, and specify your preference for queen- or twin-bed accommodations as well as your arrival and departure dates. Parking is extra at the standard Cornell campus rate of $10/day, but the Statler does provide complementary van service to and from the Ithaca Airport, 15 minutes away from the campus (give your arrival flight information). Further information about the Statler is provided on the following website, but please do NOT use the website facility for reservations unless you wish to forego the reduced conference rate: www.statlerhotel.cornell.edu/home.html.
2. The Hans Bethe House, economical on-campus student-style housing. This newly built residential hall has been reserved for the exclusive use of the conference during May 27 through June 2. Residing here will allow you to interact with others attending IASS-IACM who have chosen this economical, on-campus option. The accommodations are arranged in multi-bedroom suites that have a common area and a shared bath, for up to 5 people per suite. The nightly rates are $59 for single occupancy and $44.50 /person for double occupancy, plus 8% tax. You can reserve this economical option through the on-line registration process (and for double occupancy you can specify a roommate or ask to be assigned one). The conference venue is within (up-hill) walking distance of the Hans Bethe House, but shuttle buses will also be available.
3. An array of off-campus but nearby hotels. This list on a separate page covers various locations to be served by the conference shuttle and city bus routes.
4. Hospitality of friends who live in the Ithaca area.
